At B.J. Fortner Hardwoods we are proud to ship quality American grown lumber from the heart of Appalachia to anywhere in the world! Quality
TypesThe woods we've built our name on include: Red oak, which is the most widely used hardwood. It's heavy, can be bent, holds nails well and can be used with almost any finish. Our customers look to it to meet their furniture, flooring, cabinetry and trim needs. White oak, which is lighter than red oak, resists rot extremely well. It makes excellent flooring and, like its cousin, is very hard. It is used in mill work, paneling, furniture and boats. Walnut, which is preferred for fine furniture, is hard and strong, providing good shock resistance. Its grain is lovely and it finishes well. Many gun makers choose to make gun stocks from it. Maple, which is another hardwood, is strong and shock resistant. It's often used for gym floors, bowling alleys and in industry. We can also supply other hardwoods including: Black Walnut, Red Oak, White Oak, Ash, Poplar, Hickory, Aromatic Red Cedar, Basswood, Beech, Cherry, Buckeye, Hard and Soft Maple. We can also supply soft woods like White and Yellow Pine. For a look at some of our logs, visit our gallery.
